Digital Brown Bag: NMIX 4220

One of the required classes for all students in the certificate program is the digital brown bag class– and for a good reason. In this class, I have learned key essential life skills such as how to manage your credit as well as the basics of health insurance in the United States; no other class at this school has taught me anything with as many real life applications as this. In addition, the weekly guest speakers have impacted me with their wisdom from their respective industries and have helped me see all the various applications this certificate can have as well as the connections I have. Overall, I have gotten a sneak peak into the real world and how I may be able to fit in and use my skills after I graduate.

Personality Tester

In this class, one of the key aspects was a series of professional development tasks that can benefit me both now and in the future. One of the projects I did for this class was to find out what kind of personality I have. In the past, I have always sort of wondered about this but have never put forth the effort to really find out until now. Here I found out a lot about myself and the values I believe in. I chose to link this project instead of putting it in this document because it is text based with no visuals and sort of long.

Book Report

The second professional development project that I am going to share is merely a reflection of a book I have read which I felt would benefit me both academically and professionally. For this, I chose How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Like many people, I feel like this is one of the best personal development books ever released and that it can benefit everyone who reads it in a multitude of ways. Link:
